In May 2016 we decided we were in a position where we could make a big difference to our house and the way we were living. We absolutely adore our house, its a 4 bed detached, and although the upstairs has never been an issue size wise for us, the downstairs always seemed so much smaller with having an integrated garage.
We have recently just moved Jacob from our room, to his own, in a big boy cot and everything! He’s growing so fast, and although I’m really sad not to have my little baby still next to me, it did give me a reason to give the nursery a much needed tidy & de-clutter. We have been using this room as a bit of a ‘storage’ space (more like just a load of rubbish), so I finally took the plunge and completely made it all pretty and tidy again so he could go into it.
I have done a post about Finlays bedroom which you can find here, so I am now finally able to do it for the nursery!
Chest of Drawers – Mothercare
Storage box – IKEA
I showed in Finlays bedroom tour his own little harrods bear which he received from my Auntie, and when Jacob was born she bought him one for his year too. I absolutely love them and think they are such a lovely idea.
This lovely Scrabble frame was a gift from a lovely friend when Jacob was born, its so gorgeous that I haven’t taken it out of its wrapping. I just love the little buses and ticket with his details on. Such a thoughtful gift.
This lampshade was bought from Mothercare along with all the other bits to the set, I think its so sweet, and since Finlays room is done in Green, I wanted to go for a different colour theme.
I showed Finlay having one of the little Yankee candles on his shelving unit which was bought for him by his Nanny, she also bought Jacob one in ‘Baby Powder’ it smells gorgeous and I think its just a lovely little keepsake for their rooms.
The Little Brother Big sleepsuit was another gift from a lovely friend, I haven’t opened it to put Jacob into it because I love it in this packaging sitting in his room, I’m a nightmare for being sentimental about things!
This Cot Mobile is again part of the set we got from Mothercare, it’s a nautical theme and plays music.
When I was pregnant I really wanted this style of frame so that I was able to put our little boys scan pictures into, I was lucky enough to find one in the same theme as the nursery. I love how it shows the growth of him.
I absolutely love this shelving unit, it has little hooks so you can hang things up, it was from Mothercare but I’m unsure if its from the same theme. The bookends at the top, one of which is an anchor and the other a boat, again from Mothercare, along with the matching frames.
I love living room spaces, it is definitely our most used room, and although with two children around, I do try my best to keep this space as tidy as possible. We have a playroom just off of this room so at times it can get really untidy, but I’m hoping that once we have our extension done I can really concentrate on decorating this room, I really feel at the moment is just become a little dated, and there are lots of wear and tear bits and pieces I really want sorted.
Once we have our new extension this living space will become much more of a neat and tidy room as we are adding another living space which we will use more as an every day living room where the boys can play with their toys and do whatever they wish! I’m so excited to get it done and will be doing before and after posts of all the rooms which we are changing, eeek! New Kitchen!!
I thought I’d do a little tour as at the moment this is really the only room I feel is acceptable to photograph.
I love reading these posts and seeing all the different ways parents have decorated their little ones rooms, so I thought I would give it a go and show you all Finlays little bedroom (which we have decorated about 20 times). I am just never happy and always have different ideas of how I would like it!
I will do one of Jacobs Nursery soon, but for now it is covered with junk as its currently unused with Jacob still being in our room!
I love the Giraffe wall sticker we’ve put in! Its from Next and matches most things in his room!
Cot bed from Mothercare
Bedding from Tesco
I still haven’t gotten around to filling these gorgeous frames from Mothercares Tusk range! I love them and they go really well with the Jungle theme we were going for! We painted these little shelves ourselves from The Range.
Canvases from Next.
We have built in wardrobes in all four of the bedrooms which is so handy and really saves space. However we haven’t gotten around to replacing the doors on them and they are so ugly to look at! Hopefully a job for this year!
I think this candle is absolutely adorable! My mum bought both Fin and Jacob one, they smell just like babies! Everybody the loves the smell of babies!
When Fin was born, which was November 13, my aunty bought him a Harrods bear for Christmas! I love it and think its such a beautiful gift for him to keep always. She’s also just bought Jacob one for his first Christmas!
The photo frame actually has Finlays hand print next to the photo and I think it was from Mothercare! It was given to me as a gift when he was born and I think its just so lovely and personal!
Finlay sleeps with his Jellycat bunny that his nanny bought for him when he was a tiny baby! He loves it, I think they are just so cute!
This is by far my favourite part of Fins room! I absolutely love these wall stickers which we got from Ebay! They were so cheap (around £8) and they are absolutely huge!
I absolutely love to decorate the boys rooms and buy just little bits and pieces! I’m sure we’ll have a different theme come next year!
